Kalinangan Ensemble (KE): PETA's Repertory Arm
The Kalinangan Ensemble (KE) is the celebrated repertory arm of PETA, formed to be a well-rounded production and performance unit. Composed of skilled artist-teachers, KE is dedicated to creating innovative, thought-provoking theater through the production of original Filipino plays, believing that this is a necessary foundation for the development of Philippine national theater. Its primary commitment is the quest for a dramaturgy that is truly expressive of Philippine national culture and heritage.
PETA's theatrical offerings include:
- Regular Season at the PETA Theater Center: Three to four productions are staged annually, showcasing a variety of genres and themes. The PETA Laboratory also provides a space for new, experimental works.
- Mobile Productions: KE makes theater accessible to all through nationwide tours. PETA's acclaimed mobile plays reach schools and communities across the Philippines and have even been performed internationally in Asia, the USA, and Europe.
